The variety is known for its heat tolerance, making it an excellent selection for southern gardens. Heliopsis is quite drought-tolerant and adaptable to clay or rocky soils. Ideal growing conditions include dry to medium, well-drained soil in full sun. Plants can tolerate light shade, but may become lanky and require support. Deadhead spent flowers regularly to extend the blooming season, or leave spent flowers standing to provide seeds for songbirds.
